Paulo Mesaros, an eighth grader at St. Matthew School, was presented with a plaque in recognition for his essay on St. Thomas More's Catholic Principles which took first place in the 2008 essay contest sponsored by the Thomas More Society. Pablo was also awarded a $200 scholarship by the Queen of Peace Foundation.

Essay Question:

Saint Thomas More was a man who acted upon principles of faith and law in a time of upheaval between his church and government.  What Catholic principles and actions do you believe young Catholics should learn and follow to help solve some of the economic and social justice issues of today?
