The map of The Middle East
shows the different civilizations before, during and
after Abraham: the Babylonians, Sumerians, Assyrians Elamite in
present-day Iraq, Hitties and Hurrians in present-day Turkey and Syria,
the Pherro in Egypt, the Persians in Iran. You would ask why
God in his love chose this land to begin his mission to
save the world. Please locate the city of UR (color purple)
where Abraham was called to leave everything and go to the land
that the Lord would show him (Gen. 13). Under the map is a tent
(not displayed here); Abraham used to live like that. The tent
has two rooms, one for men and another for women and children.
The one of the men is large; it should have always food and
beverages so that the chief of the tribe might receive visitors
and offer hospitality, possibly trading with the visitors,
selling camels, sheep,
or horses. Women and children have the other room.
