Meal-a-month Program

 

Members of our community are invited to bring food for a complete meal or part of a meal, placing the items in the barrel at the entry to the church. The food is distributed by the San Francisco Food Bank to shelters and to needy individuals and families. Our food donations follow a monthly schedule.

January Rice (1-lb bag), chicken broth (1 pkg or can), water chestnuts (1 can), creamed corn (1 can)
February Pasta (1-lb bag), tomato sauce (2 cans), green or yellow vegetable (2 cans)
March Peanut butter (1 small, plastic jar), whole wheat crackers (1 box), fruit (2 cans), instant soup (4 or more servings)
April Cured ham (1 small can), yams (2 cans), greens (2 cans)
May Tuna (1 lg can), pasta (1-lb bag), cream of mushroom soup (1 can), peaches (2 cans)
June Rice (1-lb bag), dry beans (1-lb bag), corn (2 cans), fruit (2 cans)
July Pasta (1-lb bag), tomato sauce (2 cans), green or yellow vegetable (2 cans)
August Peanut butter (1 small, plastic jar), whole wheat crackers (1 box), fruit (2 cans), instant soup (4 or more servings)
September Stew (1 large, family-style can), rice (1-lb bag), fruit (2 cans)
October Macaroni and cheese (1 box), green vegetable (2 cans), cured meat (1 can), applesauce (2 cans)
November Instant oatmeal (1 box), raisins (1 box), fruit juice--100% juice (1 46-oz can or 1 6-pack)
December Stew (1 large, family-style can), rice (1-lb bag), fruit (2 cans)
